vaccinated. even if you got a shot last year. i'm megan gilliland, fox45 morning news. washington d-c's police chief is giving out new information about the high- speed chase that put the capitol on lockdown thursday. chief cathy lanier says she's confident it wasn't an accident when 34 year old miriam carey rammed her black nissan infiniti into a cruiser outside the white house. you can see it stopped at the barricades. police thought they had her cornered... but she soon rams into one cruiser, then backs up and takes off down the street. lanier says she doesn't believe there was a terrorist link. crash/siren nats two police officers were injured during

the chase... in this incredible video of a cruiser as it crashes.. caught on camera. we are also learning this morning that the officers were workign without pay... because of the government shutdown. no officers were injured in the shooting that killed the suspect. carey was from connecticut... and her mother says she has no idea why her daughter was in d-c. police swarmed carey's connecticut home after the incident... shocking neighbors who had no idea what was going on hundreds of miles away.. he said that it's a sensitive area, i have to run in, i have about 5-10 minutes to get all my stuff and get out for the next eight or so hours, white house mandate we have to evacuate the premises. carey's mother says her daughter was suffering from post-partum depression. the woman had her one-year-old daughter in the car with her. forget the shutdown, a bigger problem is coming-- the debt ceiling debate. congress has only a few weeks to get a deal done. if it doesn't

there could be a catastrophe. economists all around the world are sounding the alarm bells. alison kosik is at the new york stock exchange with details. think the shutdown is bad? economists are saying: we ain't seen nothing yet. today-- a dire warning from the treasury department. "there might be a financial crisis and recession that could echo the events of 2008... or worse." this is all because of the debt ceiling. the u-s government hit its legal borrowing limit of 16-point-69 trillion dollars back in may. since then, it's been using special accounting maneuvers to stay below that limit. but treasury secretary jack lew says it won't be able to do that anymore... as of october 17... or earlier. so congress has to raise that debt ceiling, or the government will default, meaning it won't be able to pay its bills. in our more than 200-year history, that's never happened. treasury says it could be "catastrophic.' think frozen credit markets, higher unemployment, higher interest rates, sharp declines in household wealth, plunging consumer and

"there are issues here there are first amendment issues there is what is cyber bullying what is not cyber bullying so we are doing it as a pilot in maryland with facebook to see if we can take out the wrinkles see what issues we confront." the new system is designed to streamline reporting of cyberbullying that may not be resolved through facebook's
